The Deep Sky

The earth is ravaged by environmental damage, and everybody get together to send the best of their youth to other planets to save humanity. 
We're on the ship with this youth that is the best of humanity - only women.  And a murder happened. 
The ship is ugly, but everybody got an implant to get to see in augmented reality. 
The protagonist always had to defend her position, and somehow during the trip she had a small issue that made her capable of seeing other people virtual realities. 
She's the main suspect though. 

Somehow I forgot I had read that book until I went to the bookshop today. I couldn't put my finger on it. 
It was entertaining but there was no big idea. 
I don't even really remember the end.
