Dead internet theory and the end of digital transformation
Digital transformation is over
Thinking about the LLM generated left and right, in code and on media platforms, I feel like dead internet theory is soon going to be real.
So what's next ? It's not like we will stop producing and exchanging.
Stopping the production economy will come maybe with the 3d printing and the zero marginal cost society ( a post-scarcity society in a way ).
But if we still engage in business, then business might be less and less digital.
If an LLM can transform an email into a slide and a slide into an email, what is the point of these communication ?
We won't have anymore presentations, instead we will have Q&A where we will go:
"Can you tell me about this thing I didn't understand ? What do you know about it ? "
and
"How do you understanding this ? I understand it this way - are we in harmony on the plan ? "
Just like photographic picture did not ruin the price of painting and actually gave it more value,
LLMs are going to give more value to hand-written notes.
